How to play

  1. Tap anywhere on the home screen to start.
  2. Pip circles a planet. Tap to launch Pip straight off its orbit.
  3. Land on a planet higher up to score a hop. Tip: tap when the dotted aim line turns green.
  4. Stay ahead of the Gloop, the friendly purple goo rising from below. The run ends if it catches Pip or if Pip flies off the screen.
  5. Tap to hop again. That’s it!

Questions

Where is my progress saved?

Only on your iPhone, in the app’s own storage. That includes your best score, stars, unlocked looks, missions, and your sound and aim helper settings. There’s no account and nothing is sent anywhere.

How do I reset my progress?

Delete the app: touch and hold the Moonhop icon, then tap Remove App → Delete App. When you install it again, you start fresh.

“Offload App” keeps your progress, so use Delete App if you want a clean start.

Will my progress move to a new iPhone?

Only if you set up the new iPhone from your old one: from an iCloud Backup, a computer backup, or a direct transfer. There’s no account or cloud sync, so progress can’t follow you any other way.

I can’t hear any sound.
  • Check the speaker button in the top-right corner of the game. If it’s crossed out, tap it to turn sound on.
  • Moonhop stays quiet when your iPhone is in Silent mode. Switch it off with the Ring/Silent switch, or with the Action button or Control Center on newer iPhones.
  • Turn the volume up with the side buttons.

Moonhop never stops your own music or podcasts. Its sounds play on top.

Can I turn off the vibrations?

Moonhop follows your iPhone’s setting. Go to Settings → Sounds & Haptics and turn off System Haptics.

What does the aim helper do?

While Pip circles, a dotted line shows where Pip will fly. It turns green when a tap right now would land on a planet.

For the first hops of every run you get the full, long line. After that it shrinks to a short pointer.

To keep the full line on every hop, tap Aim helper at the bottom of the home screen until it says always on. This is great for younger players or anyone who wants a calmer game.

Does Moonhop support Reduce Motion?

Yes. Turn on Settings → Accessibility → Motion → Reduce Motion. With it on, Moonhop:

  • turns off screen shake and slow motion;
  • keeps the menu text and the Gloop’s glow from pulsing;
  • makes buttons dim instead of shrinking when you press them.
Do I need the internet?

No. Moonhop works completely offline, even in airplane mode.

Are there ads or in-app purchases?

No. There are no ads, no purchases, no accounts and no links out of the game. Stars are earned only by playing.

Why did my run end?

A run ends in one of two ways:

  • Gooped! means the Gloop caught Pip. Pip’s eyes go wide and the goo glows when it’s getting close.
  • Lost in space! means Pip flew off the screen without landing.

Either way, one tap and you’re hopping again.

Is Moonhop OK for younger players?

Moonhop has no ads, purchases, chat, links or data collection, and failing is gentle: Pip pops into bubbles and is ready again. There are no countdowns, streaks or notifications, and a new run starts only when you tap. For younger players, set the aim helper to always on.

What do I need to play?

An iPhone with iOS 17 or later.
